Redzone 6-on-6 Beach Football
Official Tournament Rulebook
2025 Edition
Section 1: Team and Field Setup
Each team fields six players. Teams may roster up to twelve players. The field is twenty five yards long with ten yard end zones. All possessions begin at the twenty five yard line. The offense chooses the hash at the start of each possession. Starting possession is determined by Rochambeau. The loser begins with the ball in the second half.
Section 2: Down Structure
Teams have four downs to reach or pass the fifteen yard line. Once past the fifteen, teams play three down football. Crossing the fifteen creates a new series. Crossing the goal line scores a touchdown.
Section 3: Game Timing
Pool play games last ten minutes. Playoff games last fifteen minutes. The clock runs continuously except for injuries, referee timeouts, and dead balls in the final minute of playoff games. Dead balls include incomplete passes, out of bounds plays, penalties, changes of possession, and scores. Teams receive one timeout per game and one additional timeout in overtime. If a team leads by twenty one or more after five minutes, the clock runs continuously for the remainder of the game. Games start and end on the referee whistle.
Section 4: Offensive Rules
Teams may use one forward pass per play. Teams may use one exchange between the twenty five and fifteen yard lines. No runs are allowed inside the fifteen yard line. The quarterback may run once per series between the twenty five and fifteen. No double passes are allowed. No blocking is allowed. The play clock is twenty seconds. The pass must be thrown within three and a half to four seconds. Receivers must align at least four yards from the quarterback tee with one receiver on each side on the line. The offense must return the ball to the official promptly.
Section 5: Defensive Rules
The defense must begin five yards off the ball unless the ball is handed off. The defense may rush only when the ball is handed off. The defense may blitz once per series between the twenty and fifteen yard lines. No blitzing is allowed inside the fifteen yard line. No blitzing over the quarterback tee. Illegal blitzing results in fifteen yards and an automatic first down. Tags must be below the neck. Interceptions are dead at the spot. Face guarding is not allowed. Defensive pass interference results in a replay of the down and a five yard advancement. Offensive pass interference results in a loss of down and a five yard penalty.
THE GOOD INTS 2pts

Section 8: Overtime
Overtime is used only in playoff games. The coin toss winner chooses offense or defense. Each team receives two plays from the ten yard line. All plays are passes. PAT attempts are allowed. No runs or blitzes are allowed. If tied, teams run one play each from the fifteen yard line until a winner is determined. If still tied, teams enter a one on one tiebreaker.
